Sitting in front of the screen all day can be detrimental to your health. It’s especially hard on your back if your have previously injured it. Seeking proper treatment will allow you to stay as active as possible.
Before I go on, I’d just like to say that the best place to get medical advice is still from a qualified doctor. I injured my back a few years ago but proper treatment and exercise have allowed me to go about doing what I usually do without much of a fuss.
Lower back pain is quite common among adults and is usually due to muscle strain or injury. It is also important to understand that some continued or repeated back pain is not surprising or dangerous. You should try to be active soon after noticing pain, and gradually increase your activity level. Too little activity can lead to loss of flexibility, strength, and endurance, and then to more pain.
I used to feel really stiff and uneasy after sitting down for too long. I would avoid any form of exercise for fear for aggravating the injury. Little did I know at the time that exercise would actually help alleviate the problem.
I’ve been told that most lower back pain can improve if you stay active. But try to avoid positions and activities that may increase or cause back pain like lifting heavy objects while not adopting the proper posture. As a pain reliever, use ice and take nonprescription pain relievers when you need them.
Once you no longer suffer from acute pain, try gentle strengthening exercises for your stomach, back, and legs, and perhaps also some stretching exercises. Proper exercise techniques may not only help decrease lower back pain, but it may also help you recover faster, prevent re-injury to your back, and reduce the risk of disability from back pain.

Exercises to reduce low back pain are not complicated and can be done at home without any special equipment. But other activities such as sleeping a certain way or even setting up your workstation ergonomically can also help.
