Please don’t hate me but I’ve never had any issues with weight. It’s probably because I have the metabolism of a mongoose. But I still hit the park for a good run 5 days a week just to keep the old pumper strong and to check out the babes enjoy the fresh air.

It’s important to stay fit no matter where you work from. I’ve seen quite a few people pile on the pounds after opting to concentrate fully on their home based small business. This shouldn’t come as a surprise as the basic exercise one does during a typical 9 to 5 job – walking – is greatly reduced once you work from home for the long term. I read somewhere that execs at some of the larger manufacturing facilities walk as much as 3km a day. Which is equivalent to brisk walking for about 45 minutes a day.
According to an article I read on MayoClinic.com, a 30 minute brisk walk burns around 150 calories. A 45 minute brisk walk would therefore burn 225 calories. So cutting 45 minutes of brisk walking out of your daily routine would mean you can’t burn that 225 calories. And just imagine, to lose a measly 1 pound, you need to burn a whopping 3500 calories. Do you see what I’m getting at here?
Simply put, it just takes a bit of logic and a little will power to lose your current weight and maintain your ideal weight. Referring to a study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, losing weight is all about calories. You can choose to consume less x amount of calories or burn the same x amount of calories (more than you consume) and you’ll end up with the same results. But exercise has many more benefits like improving your endurance level and keeping you looking toned.

So start watching your diet and get a little walking done before you lose sight of your toes.
