More useful software for home business to home business newbies to consider
If like me, you are thinking of designing your own site from scratch, then you’d probably need some additional software for home business to the ones I’ve mentioned in my earlier take on the subject.
I would venture a guess that since a picture paints a thousand words then you would definitely need product photos for your online store site.
To design the page layout, you would need a web development application or HTML editor. I’ve used Dreamweaver before for this purpose and I can testify that it’s fairly easy to use. It took me about half a day to familiarize myself with the software and most of its features and by the end of the day I had my first few pages up and running. It’s not freeware so you if you want to use it then you are going to have to buy it.
There are a few similar alternative applications that are available for free. One such free web development software is Quanta Plus. Both Dreamweaver and Quanta Plus have WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) capabilities which means the content displayed during editing appears very similar to the final output.
To edit photos for your site, the first name that comes to mind is none other than Photoshop. This top of the line photo editing software is of course not available for free. Similar freeware alternatives would be GIMP and Kolour Paint. Both alternatives are sufficient for webpage photo editing needs and are easy to use.
Do give yourself sufficient time to familiarize yourself with the software you decide to use. I would suggest trying out the freeware first. If you come across any obstacles, try visiting software forums for guidance and useful tips.
